In the Sheffield Star recently, a couple of articles on the completion date of the Castle park, photographs of the pages are attached.  As we have reported previously, there is still considerable work required to complete the works, and the Council is understandably now reluctant to publicise a date for opening.

As the article says, we are frustrated with the considerable delays that in a lot of cases could have been avoided and this of course has then added to the cost.  Approvals for the repair, consolidation and presentation of the Castle remains are still awaited and this will then need planning approval before the final design can be worked on. This means the design team can only produce draft plans in case something might need to be changed
